Movie Day

Since Ashlee has been cooped up without a car, she was struggling with a little cabin fever. Isn't it funny how that happens when you know you can't go anywhere, but you're okay being stuck inside if it's your decision? Anyway, I called her today because I needed(want? it's a fine line) to go to Target and I thought she might like to go with me. She was so happy. She told me she would have been thrilled just to go to the gas station. Anything to get out of the house. Then she decided we needed to see a movie. Since I didn't know how good/bad the roads were, I wasn't sure I wanted to be out very long so I didn't want to go to the movies. However, I checked on the movie times and once I was out, the roads were fine, so I decided we could go to the movies.
I decided we would see Inkheart. It really isn't a good name for a movie. I would have named it something different - maybe Search for Inkheart - that sounds more exciting. I had pretty low expectations because I hadn't heard anything about it.
Low expectations are good. Then you're always surprised when something exceeds them. It was actually a good little movie. Lots of talented actors, good story line. We both liked it. Jennifer Connolly had a cameo. Her husband, Paul Bettany had a supporting role-you might remember him from A Beautiful Mind, Helen Mirren was in this movie and she is always good in whatever role she plays.
I would recommend it for a family but not for anyone under five or six - it has some scary people/scary monster in it.
After the movie, it was Target time.
Why do I love Target so much? For one thing, the card selection is great. Another reason: they have fun home accessories and cool baby stuff. They carry Method brand cleansers and soap - try the sweet water or the sea minerals hand soap. I like the foaming handwash. Method has handy refill packages so you don't contribute to a landfill so much. Oh, and I love to dig through the clearance stuff. The only negative - if something is in their Sunday ad, chances are good they won't have it if you want it.

We stayed way too long, but you know we had a good time.

Capped off our Target visit with a stop at Starbucks - a green tea frappuccino-hold the whipped cream for me and Ashlee branched out and tried a Berry chai Tazo tea infusion and it was very good.
Tomorrow it's back to the work for Ashlee, same old, same old for me. Whatever I want to do. Don't be jealous!

Thanks for the fun day! I'm glad we went to the movies, or as you like to call it, the movie house. You forgot to name our favorite, overpriced, but sometimes worth it card brand, Papyrus.

Yes, I did. That is my favorite card if I'm in the mood to shell out at least $4.00 for a card. Sometimes I am, sometimes I'm not, but their envelopes are nice and they use a very high quality paper.

That sounds like a fun day. I love going to the movie. There weren't any pre-driver/teen chatterboxes there, were there? I think they tend to stick to the PG-13 and the rated R movies, so maybe there weren't too many seeing Inkheart.

Thanks for the movie review!

What a fun day! Don't you just love Target?! I have to limit my trips though.... I go in not needing a thing and walk out spending at least $50 bucks... everytime! ha ha! I took Logan to see Inkheart on Wednesday too! He really liked it... I kinda dosed off a couple of times. Turns out I was coming down with that HORRENDOUS stomach virus! YUK!! I won't tell you what I did ALL day yesterday!! Ha Ha!

I love that your music player is playing "True Colors" right now! :) I haven't heard too much about Inkheart yet, but it looks interesting. If I ever go out to a movie again, perhaps I'll see it!
