THIS IS NIAAAAAGARRRRAAAA FALLLLLSSSS!!!!

My sister-in-law (SIL) and I flew to Buffalo, New York to spend a few days with our good friend, Marilyn and her longsuffering husband Rick, in their RV. They are seeing the East Coast with Gary and Beverly, who also have an RV. It was a wonderful opportunity to see an area of the country I've never seen before and we really enjoyed it. We got there Tuesday around 1:00PM. Rick and Marilyn picked us up from the airport and took us to the KOA campground on Grand Island. While my SIL took a quick nap, we went grocery shopping and fixed dinner. It was so nice we ate outside and then Gary started a fire and we roasted marshmallows for S'mores. Yumm-o! Wednesday we got an early start and took a two part tour - total time: 11 hours. Yes, 11 hours! We packed a ton of entertainment in those hours. We began with seeing the whirpool where all the water from the falls pours into this one area. Very cool. Here are some of the pictures I took.I posted a lot, so bear with me.

Rick and Marilyn - aren't they cute? Who knew yellow ponchos were so seductive?

This is part of Cave of the Winds. You get to walk around close to the base of the American and Bridal Veil Falls. It was so fun and awe inspiring. God never does anything half way. We were soaked even with ponchos. Gary and Beverly went on the hurricane deck and they really got soaked. I didn't want my camera to get any more water on it, so I just laughed at them!

They have grey, red and black squirrels at Niagara. We were at a park taking about 15-20 minutes to look around and my SIL and I saw this adorable squirrel. I had a bag of peanuts and so my SIL fed it. After we looked at the pics, we realized it was a momma squirrel. I named her "Minky" because she was so shiny and black. Very tame. She climbed on my SIL's lap to get the peanuts. I think she is a pretty girl.

We also got to go behind the Falls. It was fun, but it felt like you were in prison tunnels. There were signs that contained interesting facts about the Falls. One of the stories was about a seven year old boy who went over the Falls after being involved in a boating accident. He survived the fall with just a regular life vest and was rescued by the Maid of the Mist boat. Incredible.

This is the Skylon Tower. It has several elevators on the outside so you can see the view. Looks fun, right? Well, if your name is Marilyn, it's not. It's scaaarryyyyy!

Waiting in line to go up into the Skylon.

Inside the elevator, on the way up. Marilyn has to pray really hard to keep that elevator up! She was a trouper, though. I'm proud of her for going up so high when she was so scared.

Thursday night we went into Canada so we could see the Falls lit up at night. Here we are except for my SIL. These photos turned out better than I thought they would.

My SIL and I left Friday morning. After four days of listening to me talk and laugh, poor Rick probably needed a break! I had such a good time. Thanks Marilyn and Rick (and Gary and Beverly) for letting us share part of your road trip. You know you're having fun when you have to say: "This was a good day!" at least three or four times before you go to bed. Marilyn and Rick, enjoy the peace and quiet and privacy on the rest of your adventure. For more cool Niagara photos, check out Marilyn's blog.

Pam, loved your photos. My favorites are the one of the squirrel on Beverly's lap and the ones of Beverly looking unhappy in her poncho. That was hilarious. Loved it! And thanks for the dog gate!

Loved the photos of the falls especially with the rainbows. The squirrel pics are funny too. Why aren't there any of her in your lap?
