A Rose by any Other Name . . .

Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul. Luther Burbank

I took these photos last month right after some rain fell. I thought they were pretty and what girl dislikes flowers? Not me! I love flowers but, alas, I don't have a green thumb. These roses were here when we moved in over ten years ago. Thank goodness they don't require a lot of care.
Even though red is my very favorite color, I think pink roses are prettier.. They are beautiful and are the most fragrant. They don't smell like rose perfume - they have a delicate scent. I love them.
The white roses I have are very fragile. They bloom and immediately start losing their petals. After it rains, I'm lucky to have any left. They also smell wonderful.
Nothing big or exciting, just a thing of beauty to enjoy. But, hey, check out this web site. I saw it tonight and liked what it had to say about the "rudification" of our country. I'm sure we could all brush up on our manners and teach our kids some common courtesies while we are at it. I'm pretty laid back on most things but rudeness is ugly.

I'm glad you take the time to stop and smell the roses. They are beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing and allowing us another opportunity to enjoy the beauty of God's creation. We're seeing the vastness of his creation in the ocean, falls, forests of vibrant color then you draw it down to one small rose and realize He's everywhere in power and beauty. We need that reminder that He is in control and has all power during these troubled and unstable times. (Wow, where's my mind, that's heavy stuff.) Miss you, another thing of beauty is your laugh.
