Katie's blog inspired me to list a few of my favorite things; Well, I really just wanted to avoid any housework I should be doing. Bear in mind that these are totally shallow, materialistic favorite things. Don't read anything into it because I didn't add family, pets or friends. Those are things I need to survive. The things listed below are things I could live without, but wouldn't like it one bit! It's a loooonnnng post. . . I like a lot of stuff.
This is my entry way light fixture. It's enormous. I love it because the kids chose it and Steve gave it to me for Mother's Day/Birthday. Much better than the old, small, brass and glass monstrosity.

These are my plates. Dessert plates were given to me by my good friend, Mary, red cut glass plates I bought for myself, and the Lenox Butler's Pantry casual china was a gift from my mom. I love to mix patterns, colors and textures.

This is a fabulous piece of furniture in my kitchen. I love it. Got it at Windsor Market on sale and saw it in a catalog a couple of weeks later and it was more than double the price. Maybe that's why I like it so much. A cute bargain.

Some of my many serving pieces of Lenox Butler's Pantry casual china. I love it. Thanks, mom!

China cabinet with assorted dishes. Notice the cake topper? I can't believe I had a lavender wedding. What was I thinking almost 28 years ago? I loved red even back then, should have gone with red. The kids got the cake server for our 25th anniversary. It's engraved with our anniversary date - 06/19/81.

This is an etching of the Eiffel Tower that Ashlee did at college. It's in my dining room and I love it. She did not like making etchings. It's really hard and time consuming.

This is my wall of wedding photos. When Katie and Josh got married, I had to have some photos. Then Ashlee and Jason were put on the wall, followed by old photos of Steve and me that Ashlee and Jason gave to me for Christmas last year. It's one of the first things I see when I come into the house from my car. and it makes me happy. The sign says "Live happily ever after." I plan to keep adding as Tyler and my nephews and niece get married.

It's winter. Dry skin. Enough said.

This makes me feel pretty when I wear it.
Euphoria by Calvin Klein. Powerful stuff, indeed.

Oh, Jetta soaking tub, how I love you.

A gorgeous painting commissioned for my bathroom reno by my fave artist.

Love this light fixture and my renovated bathroom.

Jewelry armoire I got for Christmas this year. Fabulous. I can find everything now.

My closet organizers that keep me semi-organized. That's as good as I get in the organization department. Yes, that's Shout spray and gel you see on the shelf. I am a laundry freak and since our hamper is in the closet, it's convenient to have the Shout close by.

Steve's reading room. No television, just a quiet place to read a good book and wind down. It's a good bear cave.

This is what you see when you go upstairs. They are photos of Tyler dancing at Ashlee's wedding. Brings back great memories everytime you look at them. For some reason, we didn't get any of the dancing on the wedding video. Wah. There's also a photo from Tyler's high school graduation on the table by my Beauty and the Beast snowglobe-Belle and the Beast are dancing, of course. I try to get a snowglobe everytime I go to Disneyworld. On the lower shelf is an antique wooden shoe form sitting on top of some books. Fun.

Lamp - I actually have two on my sofa table upstairs. I bought them for Ashlee, she grew tired of them, needed new ones, so she gave them to me and they look great in the family room upstairs.

Don't be jealous, Katie! I know you love these paintings. Me too.

Shelves in the family room that I put together. I know, hard to believe. The canvas/leather boxes hold all of our dvds. I love them. Hobby Lobby has some good storage solutions.

I love this photo book Ashlee and Jason gave me for Christmas. Ashlee made it and it's photos from our Disney trip this summer. I look at it almost every day. Jason is an awesome photographer.

Just in case you don't know why the spanish is there, it means "Please stand clear of the doors."
You hear it all the time on the monorail.
Last, but not least, Tivo. How did I live without this fantastic invention? Got it for Christmas from Steve, Jason set it up, and I LOVE IT. No more lost Lost, Survivor survives, you get the idea.

Okay, let's hear all about your favorite things and I mean things, not people, family, pets, etc.
One more last thing - yes it's a person, but it's an ad from a magazine so it is just paper, yet still a fave. For those of you under thirty, It's Jon Bon Jovi. "Shot through the heart and you're to blame. Baby, you give love a bad name!"

Next time, my least favorite things. That should be fun!

Love your favorite things. Your house and the things in your house are so pretty. Such a fashionista.
Oh, and I was totally there when that jewelry armoire was purchased. Very lovely indeed.
Oh, and I think you should tag people to write on their own blogs about their fav things.
:)
Love it!! Nice leaves, too. Grrrr ....

Love your favorite things blog, very pretty stuff. I think Eucerin is one of my favorite things too, and our Disney pics. Fun blog
Fun fun! Um, why is there a spanish caption on the Disney book Ashlee made you?
Also your dishes are DELICIOUS!
The spanish is repeated over and over when your on the monorail at Disneyworld. It means "Please stand clear of the doors." You hear it so much that you start to repeat it all the time.
Hey, I'm one of those you refer to as under 30, and I know who Bon Jovi is. Hmph, do not insult my pop culture intellect.
Good list of favorite things. Thanks for the tag.
"Oooh, we're halfway there, ooooh, livin' on a prayer! Take my hand, we'll make it, I swear, ooooh..."
Nice picks! I think I need to buy some of Ashlee's work!
