Movie Monday

Today I went to the 1:45PM showing of Slumdog Millionaire. Take a bathroom break BEFORE you go in - it's long (two hours + previews). So, I go into the "movie house" - that's what I call the Owasso theater - and buy my ticket. Walk into the theater - not a soul in the whole place. I'm thinking that surely someone else will come in, but nope, it was just me, my smuggled-in Taco Bueno bean burrito (hey, I hadn't had lunch!) and my theater-bought $5.00 diet coke.

I really didn't expect to like this movie since it had won so many Academy Awards (does anybody ever like the films that receive statues?) Pleasant surprise - it actually deserved all those awards! It is very difficult to see what some children must do to survive in India, but the heart of this movie is a sweet love story. It is rated "R" and it's for violence and a few curse words that are translated on the screen (the movie only has a couple of scenes that aren't in English).Go see it, but remember to take a bathroom break first. It is well worth the admission/snack price.

That's my Monday movie review. Enjoy the show.

Oh, to look like Freida Pinto, who plays Latika in the movie. She's beautiful.

Hope the music isn't something horrible, but if it is, apologies! Catchy, isn't it?!

I am OBSESSED with Slumdog Millionaire!! I was the same going into it... I reluctantly went and came out sold on it! I think it deserves all of the Oscars too, and more! Haha... And Frieda Pinto is a goddess :-)

Thanks for the movie review! I have been wondering how good it really was... being that it won so many awards, it really spiked my curiosity! Glad you enjoyed it!

I'm glad it is a happy-ending movie. Goodness knows we need more of those.

Thank you SO MUCH for the cutie-pie clothes for Caleb! He's going to be such a little knockout in them (more than he is already ...) :)!!

Glad to know it was good. I think I will wait until it comes out on DVD though.

I'm glad you liked it! I completely agree with you about Oscar movies, they usually don't live up to the hype (i.e. Crash).
