Hey, hey, they're the Betas!

Today was Mom's Day for the fraternities and sororities at OSU. Tyler and my nephew, Blake, belong to Beta Theta Pi, so my sister and I went down for the day. It was a beautiful windy day. Here's Tyler and me by the "Hitler Tree." One of the Betas was in the Olympics in Germany (I think it was 1936) and medaled in some track and field event. Hitler gave all the medalists trees, so here's one of those trees all grown up:My sister Vickie and my nephew Blake.
The boys on the bleachers getting ready to serenade the moms. How sweet! They sang "Doxology" and a silly song about mommies. So funny. There's my cute boy and he really did sing! Look at how many boys are scruffy faced.
Love this photo of my buzz cut boy.
We played bunco with the boys and guess who ended up with the last bunco? That would be me. Poor Tyler didn't win anything.
We went to Louie's for an early dinner. It was yummy.

The lighting in the place was pink, so all my photos look funny. Look at what goofballs my sista and I are - still have our name tags on and we aren't even on campus. Yeesh. You almost don't notice the name tag on Vick because she is wearing some super cute earrings. She got them at Stein Mart and I love them. They have sparkly little rhinestones all around the hoop part of the earring. Blake looks like his mom, doesn't he?
Blake's girlfriend, Emily, drove down from OU to go to the Spring Sing, and she met us at Louie's. As soon as she got there she wanted to wash her hands, so she sat her purse on the table and told Tyler to watch it for her. He did a good job!
We were going to take a photo of the three of them on this bench and Tyler smooshed between Blake and Emily. She is so cute.
This weird little sofa was in front of a store so we made the kids sit on it.
Sad boys, sad boys, whatcha gonna do when your moms leave you?
There they go, walkin' down the street. Get the funniest looks from everyone they meet. Hey, hey they're the Betas!
After the kids left for Spring Sing, Vick and I went to this store called "The Beadery." It was a neat little gift shop not a bead shop like you would think and they had some fun jewelry, so I had to get a new necklace, earrings and bracelet.

It was a great day. Miss the boy already. Great news: the men from Beta teamed up with Sigma Nu swept the Spring Sing, taking first place in a ton of categories. Congrats to those fine, singing men who participated this year.

Glad you girls got to go visit the boys in good old Stillwater. What other stores did you visit there?

Have you guys eaten at El Tapatio in Stillwater yet? If not, you should. It is really good authentic Mexican food. You'd love it.

That place looks so gross and dirty on the outside, but you're not the only one who has told me it was a good place to eat.
