Ashlee and I decided we wanted to make one last trip down to Dallas before school started. She needed some things from Ikea, so away we went. We drove down Thursday afternoon, checked into our hotel and went to Hobby Lobby for some beading supplies. Ashlee is into making beaded key chains. The Geiger girls (well, one Geiger, one Johnson) came over after work and spent the night with us. Poor Isaac. Every time Ashlee and I go to Dallas, he has school or a scheduled activity. This time, he was celebrating his softball league's championship win. Yay, Isaac!
So, the girls beaded and we stayed up talking and laughing until 3:00a.m. and the girls had to leave at 5:30a.m. Poor Kristen. They were headed to Houston to visit family. Wish they could have stayed longer. Love those girls.
Ashlee and I wanted to visit the Nasher Sculpture Center again.

It was great because we saw some new things. It's hard to believe all this incredible artwork is from one private collection. What a gift to the city of Dallas. If you have any interest at all in art, it is definitely a place to visit, probably sans young children. Most of the sculptures make you want to touch them and you aren't allowed, a difficult rule for me to follow!

Look, my glass is full of Ash! I wanted her to stand behind it so you could tell how tall the sculpture really is.

Thank you for the shopping plan and the sketches, Ashlee. Can't wait to get started on this room. A little advice: try to go to Ikea any day except Saturday and before the back-to-college rush. Whoo boy, it was a mad house.
In honor of Ikea's birthplace (Sweden) I have chosen a song by those fabulous songbirds from the land of Swedes, ABBA. Get down with your bad self, all you dancin' queens!

Love IKEA! Love ABBA! Love the plans for your new room! (And you can't go to IKEA without a plan...)
Hi Pam,
I'm planning to make my blog private and was wondering if I could have your email address to send you an invite. Not a big deal if you're not interested, but if you are please email it to me at kristalstrong06@yahoo.com Thanks!
Looks like you had a great time, the food looks so good, makes me hungry, but everything makes me hungry. Like the idea for your "Craft" room, do you do crafts? Or is it to be your shower, party decoration storage, shopping room.
That was a fun, last minute trip. I am longing for another Princess Cake.
Can't wait to start painting your craft room.
I wish and pray and hope that someday Oklahoma might get an IKEA or even better Tulsa!!!!!!
I, too, love IKEA, but the next time I go I will definitely have to go in there with a plan. I just went the other day and had sensory and idea overload. I need Ashlee to make me a sketch!!
