New Offices

Prepare yourself for an extremely long post. Ashlee and I both have brand new offices. She moved into the new addition to the high school so her art room is brand spankin' new. We all helped her move her fridge and microwave Saturday so here is Mrs. Osborn and her "mean teacher" look. Yikes. Not only does she expect her students to follow this rule, Mrs. Osborn heeds her own advice. Man, would you look at all that room in her storage closet!
Gotta love Elmer's Glue - it's the best.
So, here's my office/craft/sitting room:
"P" is for "Preston"
My desk, paintings, and light above magnet boards.
The cute lucite desk lamp was a spur of the moment purchase three or four years ago. It was a really good deal and I guess I was just waiting for my office to appear to have a place for it. I haven't decided whether to put the blinds back up or leave the window bare. Since it's upstairs, you can't really see in too well because of the trees. You also can't see any houses (at least in the summer with the leaves on the trees) from the window, so you feel like you're in a park or something. I also like the pop of green from the trees, so I will probably leave it as is.
My awesome cabinets.
My cowhide rug. Love it.
Closet/Wrapping Center
Orchid that I've actually kept alive for over a month. Amazing.
Thse birds are so cool. They were a gift from someone dear to me. The only problem was that they were green and pink with gold accents. I primed and painted them white. Now they kind of
remind me of something Jonathan Adler would do. They are sitting on my desk. The only kind of bird that doesn't scare me. :)
Clocks to help me dream of jet setting around the world.
My fab light hanging above my magnet boards.
Don't you wish your doggie was cute like me? Don't you?
I love sitting here and reading. It's a modern room, but it's really a soothing, cozy room. I think it's so fun. Thanks Ashlee for all your help. It would still be unfinished without your input.

Congrats on your still-living orchid! The room looks great! Are those pear pictures to the left of your desk? Did Ashlee draw those? AND, what does Ashlee's yellow shirt say? I'm wondering if it's Hindi...

I think it is hindi. It says "to write love on her arms. It's a good cause and their tees have great graphics. It was actually Tyler's shirt before he went away to college and grew out of it.

Oh, I forgot about the pear paintings. They are my cheap $49 for both canvases from IKEA. I love them and I think they look way more expensive than what they cost. They would have been much better and more costly (deservedly so!) had Ashlee done them because she would have used better canvas and the paint would have been real, not silk screened.

I'm loving both of our new spaces. I wish my orchid was still alive. That picture of tyler makes me laugh...I miss my summer buddy. Your new office is practically perfect in every way.
