Happy, happy, happy

Don't you love awards? I do. Even the simplest praise delights me. I'm supposed to list ten things that make me happy. I am going to exclude the family and pets because they are obviously at the top of the list.

1. My Sunday School class. I love seeing my four-five and some six year old friends. They make me laugh and they are a joy to be around.

2. Trying a new recipe and liking it, or laughing about how awful it is.

3. Babies. I love the way newborns are so floppy and helpless and they just get better.

4. Reading the Bible and having a verse jump off the page. Some of the verses in Psalms feel like a warm blankie wrapping around me and giving me a hug.

5. Laughing at a good joke with friends, even if it's aimed at me. I do too many goofy things to not laugh at myself! If you can't laugh at yourself, you have to be one miserable person.

6. A long soak in the tub, complete with candles filling the air with a wonderful scent, a drink, snack and book. I mean it when I say a long soak in the Jetta. Pure decadence.

7. Dessert. I seem to be on a pumpkin cheesecake kick right now. Yummmm

8. Singing. Oh, I do it so badly, but I love to sing. I really crank up my volume when I'm in the car.

9. Staying up late and sleeping in. The joy of having grown children!

10. Taco Bueno. I eat this stuff once a week. When our fam comes home from vacation, it's the first place we go to eat. I think they lace their bean burritos with crack.

So, that's ten random things that make me happy. I think I'm supposed to ask other people to list some things that make them happy, but I'll let you decide if you want to do this.
