HAPPY OCTOBER BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Okay, so my real birthday is in May (the 16th if you're thinking of getting me something), and this is one gift I received way back when: Tickets to see Neil Diamond in OKC! So all of you peeps seeing him in Tulsa, ha! Been there, done that, maybe would like to do it again! What a great show. The man sang and talked to the audience for over two hours and no intermission. I loved it. When I looked around at the crowd, I felt pretty young! We saw a lot of old timers, but a lot of younger people, too.

Neil Diamond is a great entertainer - saw him about 24 or 25 years ago in Tulsa and about the only thing that has changed about him looks wise is that he doesn't unbutton his shirt down to his belly button and he has shorter hair. He looked great and sounded better. Has a great band backing him up. Loved it! Happy 46th birthday to me all over again! I love birthdays because I always get cool presents. I know, totally selfish, but NEIL DIAMOND concert! Thanks for the ultra cool present!

(The photo above is a copy of my official Neil Diamond concert program - he's donating 100% of the purchase price of all his merchandise to Hurricane Ike relief - what a nice man.)

Oh, and on the way home, guess what we saw SITTING A FEW FEET FROM THE SIDE OF THE TURNPIKE:

I kid you not. All we could see was this huge neck and head (he was kind of hidden by a small hill). I was going to pretend I didn't see it because I wasn't sure what I saw, but Bev said, "Did you see that thing? What was it?" and that's all it took. "I think it was a mountain lion or a puma or a cougar!" How weird is that? Do we actually have mountain lions in OK? We weren't sure, but I if we don't, somebody's wild pet is running loose. Whew - I would hate to run into one of those cats out in the forest. Creepy!

What a great life I have! A concert and crazy wildlife all in one night. Love it.

Sounds like my kind of night - concert AND wildlife! :) Glad you had fun at your birthday concert. And to answer your probably rhetorical question - yes, we DO have mountain lions (aka cougars or pumas) in Oklahoma.

YEA! I'm glad you got to enjoy your birthday present, sounds like a great time. Yes, we do have mountain lions, Josh has seen some when he has been hunting and it scares me to think of him running into one. He then reminds me that he is the one with the gun! :)

Sweet Caroline, wah, wah, waaaah! Good times never seemed so good, huh? Remember when Joanna forced Tiffany and me to watch The Jazz Singer? Oh, man! I bet Tyler's the only freshman at OSU who knows all the words to Neil songs. Glad you had fun!

Glad you had fun! Not sure what to think of the wild lion! Hey did you know we have aligators to in OK? I think I will stick to my duck in the back yard sitting on a football waiting to hatch!
I promise we will be back in Sunday school soon and Brice misses you too!

I'm glad you had a good time. You usually manage to have a good time or make a good time wherever you are. I miss your laugh too. What do you mean you are not surprised Rick would know more than me about anything? I would take offense but I won't remember what I'm supposed to be offended by. Rick got a kick out of your comment though. love ya!
