Dust in the Wind

So, I've always thought my house was really dusty and not just because I'm not a very good housekeeper. I can dust and thirty minutes later there's already a film of dust on the furniture. Gah. Maybe it's because there has been constant construction around our house since we moved 10 years ago. The high school and the road and the stores.....
Anyway, I try to change my air filters once a month (okay, so it's been six weeks) but I buy the Filtrete brand filters that are supposed to last three months. Here's what it looks like brand new. Here's what it looked like after six weeks in my house. Disgusting, I know. So maybe I really do just live in an incredibly dusty area of town. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.
I have two different sized vents in my house, so the smaller filter is a cheaper brand, but look at it! So gross!

It cracks me up that you put your filters on the world wide web. We've reached a new era of openness. Thank you for your transparency. And although a filter blog sounds downright boring, yours, as always, was entertaining:)
