Lakehouse visit

No photos - I forgot to take my camera. Dumb me. Went to Grand Lake Tuesday, came home Thursday afternoon.

Highlights in no particular order:
Completed wedding shower favors.
Watched Carol Burnett DVD and laughed A LOT.
Rode our bicycles for 30 minutes two days in a row. Steve rode with us yesterday.
Shopped and found a birthday present for my sister and maybe a little somethin' somethin' for me.
Never really had to cook for two or three days - unless you count cleaning lettuce for hamburgers cooking.
Trying some weird pineapple-walnut salad at a little lunch place and LOVING it. Wish I had the recipe.
Talking with family and friends.
Playing with the most fabulous great-nephew ever. He almost has that crawling thing figured out.
Playing Scrabble and taking a beating.
Taking a Benadryl induced nap yesterday after a late lunch.
Good drive up and back.
Trying to put plastic lures on a hook - it's hard! - and finally getting it right.
My sister-in-law catching the biggest bass while she fished in the pond with the boys. Woo hoo!
Laughing.
Letting the few problems I actually have in my life slide off my shoulders for a couple of days.
Remembering that God is always in control and I don't have to (and shouldn't even try to) micromanage for Him.

Lowlights:
Cool weather (this wasn't really bad for me, but everyone else really likes HOT weather)
Allergies and red puffy eyes from being out in nature.
Almost getting sick while riding my bike the second day because of allergies. I fought back the desire hop off my bike and get rid of my blueberry breakfast, but I did have to stop a couple of times. Dumb allergies!
That's it. I have to say the good far outweighed the bad.

Of course, it was good to come home to a clean house - thanks to Tyler (with Ashlee's help), happy dogs and happy boy. Steve will be coming home from the lake tomorrow. Hope he catches lots of fish today and tomorrow. Hope he throws them all back in the lake. Here's the stuff I bought for myself:

Cute apron and yes, I actually like to wear them when I cook because I am that MESSY.

Necklace and earrings

Thank you again for watching the little guy while Erin and I bummed around the booming metropolis that is Grove. :) It was fun to hang out with you guys!
