Dinner is served...
Today I decided to have Jason and Ashlee come over for dinner. Since they both work, sometimes it's nice to have a night to relax and not worry about what in the world to fix for dinner. Nothing fancy just little baked sandwiches with a butter/poppy seed sauce; some orange and red bell peppers with veggie dipping sauce; creamy tomato soup; and chocolate cake made from scratch. Simple but yummy. Oh, I also made tiny white chocolate cupcakes with raspberry frosting for my nephews and kept a few for the fam. Glad I did - Steve likes them better than chocolate cake. Can't imagine. My chocolate cake is to die for. Wonderful, moist deliciousness!Don't you love my fancy plates for the bell peppers? I usually have a better presentation, but sometimes it just doesn't happen. I do have a serious zip-loc addiction.
I love my football shaped crock pot. It's fun and it has a "warm" setting. Good for cream based soups that aren't supposed to boil. This is the only tomato soup that I like.
Totally cute petite (one little bite) cupcakes - the only thing is I didn't have time to make the frosting look pretty. I only had seven minutes to frost 38 of these babies! I had to pick my nephew up from school, so it's the best I could do. They still taste really good for a mix (an expensive mix, but still a mix).
Oooey, gooey, chocolate bliss.
Food always tastes better when somebody else makes it, unless it happens to be my desserts. I have to admit I am a pretty good recipe follower and I like to cook. Now, I think I hear a piece of cake calling my name. Bon appetit, everyone!

Oh, man... that chocolate cake looks soooooo good! I think I need to come over to your house more often, say, around dinner time?
So, Miss Gourmet Cook, do you ever make gourmet foods from scratch for your furry kids? It's fun.
Did you say simple??? I can't imagine what fancy would be :) Simple for me is sandwich and chips, fancy, well, I have never done that. It looks yummy! Ashlee is lucky to have you as a mom!
Girl, just looking at that yummy food makes me hungry and I just ate breakfast. I wish I liked to cook as much as you do. I suppose it helps that you raised a family that will pretty much eat anything. I might enjoy it more if I could try new things without having to throw most of it out, such a waste.
Dinner was great Pam thank you so much. I do like me some chocolate cake, so don't listen to Steve he doesn't know what he is talking about.
