You know, I live a pretty great life.
There are four girls (including me and I use the word "girls" loosely - we're all over the age of, well never mind) that always get together to exchange birthday presents. In honor of the birthday girl, the text is her favorite color.
The birthday girl chooses the lunch place and it's always good.
Shopping (yay!) is usually involved.
Lots of laughter. We have too much history not to laugh at ourselves.
Today:
Lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Unsweetened iced tea - finally. That fruit tea is pleh. Lettuce wrap appetizers. I think I had caramel chicken or something like that. It's not coated in caramel. It's kind of asian-y and it's wonderful. It's not on the regular menu, just the little card that they give you when you receive your menu. Lemoncello Cream Torte for dessert.
Almost in a sugar-induced coma.
Mmmmmm.
Shopping for a little while. Didn't buy a thing - shocking!
Then a movie.
Normally, I am not a movie goer. I have a hard time being quiet that long and being still. But lately, I have gone to the "movie house" more than the last two or three years combined. We went to see "New in Town" with Renee Zellweger and Harry Connick, Jr. It's a cute little movie. Go in with low expectations and it's a good movie. We were all jealous of Renee Zellweger's beautiful legs and rear. She's so tiny, but still shapely. I would do anything to have legs and rear like that, except quit eating. Oh well! Love me some Harry Connick, Jr. A piece of advice: if you go to the Cinemark on 71st and Memorial, be aware that they don't sell Hot Tamales candy. I know, a travesty. I love Hot Tamales. Even as full as I was, I wanted those Tamales! Buy your own at Target or Walmart and smuggle them in. I'm not above this and I will compensate by purchasing a $20 soda. Okay, so that's an exaggeration, but you get my drift. Enjoy the show.
Back to Owasso we go.
Fun times, great friends, way too excellent life.
Hey, Ashlee, could you get me a sign for my house with that on it? Because you and I love some sentimental signage!
Harry Connick, Jr. - play us a song, piano man!

Lovin' those red shoes!

Gotta love that birthday girl! The font color and place that you ate at (and the entree you ordered) gave it away! Well, and the fact that I know her birthday ... anyway. How fun! :)
Sounds like you do have a great life! Isn't it wonderful to have great friends to celebrate with? You have a bonus because some of your great friends are also your family - that doesn't always happen. Tell all of your unnamed friends that I said hello - and tell Bev happy birthday!
I just LOVE hanging out with my friends!
And LOVE the shoes in your previous post!
I too have been to the movies more in the last two or three months than I have in the last two or three years. Weird.
Anyways, glad you had a good day. Looks like a cute movie. I like Renee Zellweger. I love the Bridget Jones movies. She's so hopeless in those movies, you just have to root for her.
:)
Sounds like a great day. It's good you get to hang out together and have fun. It's also nice to have family close.
Skip, skip, skip to the loo... It was an exceptionally fun day, good friends, good food, good laughs, what more could a girl want.
